Project Description

The a capella choir is a Chavayah elective open to post b’nei mitzvah students. We learn to sing arrangements of Jewish and Jewish-themed popular music in a supportive, non-competitive environment designed to strengthen confidence in performing while also strengthening ties to the Jewish community. Students focus on learning to use their voices in harmony, blending with the others around them, how to make special “effects” with their voices for percussion and instrumental sounds which are popular in a capella singing. All voices and levels of experience and are welcome! Music reading and experience in singing a plus but not required, as the Cantor uses several methods in teaching the music.
